Great Grey Canadian “Timber” Wolves are extremely shy, intelligent and can be very difficult to hunt. Unlike bears, sitting over a bait expecting to shoot a wolf can be next to impossible. KapRiver Outfitters has developed a unique hunting system over the last 30 years that produces results
A typical day will begin by checking known wolf sites by truck and snow machines. If there are fresh tracks, your guide will run a perimeter and if it is determined the wolves are bedded down within the block, you will be placed in strategic positions to await the “Drive”.
A tracker will then track the animals on snowshoes and the chase is on. This is when the action begins. The wolves may try to elude the tracker, eventually get frustrated and break towards the hunters .
The anticipation of being on stand and waiting for Canada`s most elusive of predators to appear before you is an experience you will not soon forget.
